Occupational Therapist
Brief description of the position
École Philou is an alternative education program for young polyimpaired people aged 21 to 29. We are looking for an occupational therapist who wishes to work in a warm, different and innovative environment. The occupational therapist will have to be part of an outstanding team working in an interdisciplinary manner in order to offer diversified services. The occupational therapist will be called upon to work at the Garderie Philou (2 to 5 years old) as well as at École Philou offered to young polyimpaired (21 to 29 years old). He will then be able to take part in new projects in development.
Terms and Conditions of Employment
- Workplace: Centre Philou
- Employment status: Self-employed
- Salary: According to salary scale
- Schedule: 3 to 4 days / week, from 8:30 am to 4 pm
- Start date: As soon as possible
Key Responsibilities
- Take charge of the files of the 26 students enrolled at the Philou School and the 10 children enrolled at the Daycare
- Assessing student capacity
- Participate in the creation of intervention plans in an interdisciplinary manner with the team of professionals (teachers, physiotherapist, and psychoeducator, as needed)
- Offering recommendations and teaching to the educational coaches of each of the students (creation of detailed and personalized sheets)
- Offer a monthly or ad hoc follow-up, as needed, to the 25 students and their counselor.
- Participate in report card meetings with the interdisciplinary team
- Follow up with students’ parents and other external professionals
- Opportunity to take part in development projects in pediatrics
Requirements
- To be a graduate in occupational therapy (member of the order)
- Experience with polyimpaired clients (ID, PD), an asset
- Follow Centre Philou training
- Ability and interest in teaching
